Dansker, you know, you better not create common topics that in fact are about nothing. You see, the topic "Literature" is very common and it is preferred to discuss special questions, that could include authors or their books or poems.
If I were you I would delete the topic "Literature" and instead of it create a topic called "August Strindberg" where I would place that peace of info that you've posted in the topic "Hi there". It's not hard to create a new topic I think.

But, I still think, that Topic, called "literature" is a good idea. If we are going to make a topic, that belongs to each of Auhors, this forum will become the biggest in the world. We also can not produce the popularity. F.ex., not so many people knows August Strindberg... So, I would suggest "literature" just to stay as it is.

Dansker , could you tell me is how do you call vikings only pirates or something much more than pirates I asked this cause peole( mainly Russian) said that they were piretas, I didn't aree with this point. As for me I prefer to talk about them as of somekind of nation .

Well, both yes and no.
Vikings behaved themselves extremely violent from time to time.
They killed and wraped everything on their way to the target.
But still, most of the time they lived normal quiet live (if 'quiet' is the right word =)...

I wouldn't necessarily say the vikings were ' pirates ', as such....certainly not by the definition of what pirates are perceived to be. Like any invading army, vikings did plunder, steal and use any commodities they felt were useful to them....mainly in terms of trading. As for the blatent killing, this again is false....in some cases vikings did kill, but only in the form of defending off people to whome they were attacking. In many situations where local inhabitants knew in advance the impending arrival of the vikings, they fled....thus very little killing and fighting actually took place. As for the raping of women, this again is born down to speculative gesture. In the act of aggression, whether this be vikings or any other invading forces, raping and/or taking advantage of the women (slave or for sexual gratification), was very common to all. As a whole, as mentioned, the viking were, to the most part, a peaceful race of people, where, to most of them, trading was the priority of their acts.
