Dansker, well... any topics are welcome. I'm especially interested in literature. To be true I haven’t heard about anybody except August Strindberg (I’ve read some novels by him) of Scandinavian literature. And that could be interesting.
We can make dialogues on such subjects as cinema, art, literature (I hope) and politics. We can discuss history topics also.
Exchanging opinions with those who live abroad is interesting because of the differences in culture and mentality.

Salve, I recieved an email today in Russian and being curious traced down the origin. I have no idea what it said but was happy to see that you have an Engish subforum and noticed a few topics dealing with history.

I'm very much interrested in history and find it very interresting to read the different accounts of World History as viewed by others around the world. Being American, it also interrests me to read how the World views Americas past and present.

I am also the developer of vbPortal the frontpage/protal script on this website, so if there's anything I can help with I'll do what I can time permitting.

Yes, I have indeed. Kirkwall and Stromness are very beautiful places. The Cathedral (St Magnus), in Kirkwall, is most impressive....as is the quaint, full of character streets of Kirkwall. Kirkwall's population is around 4,500.... slightly smaller than Lerwicks...Shetlands main town....and where I reside.

Yes, Orkney and Shetland, are full of history......picts, celts, viking and scottish. Orkney and Shetland, used to belong to Denmark...but were given away as part of a marriage dowry...Princess Margaret of Denmark to James III of Scotland, in 1469. Shetland, however, has closer links to Scandinavia, than it does to, Scotland though lol
