Then a question arises how we determine 'to be killed'. When the population dies out because all public services have been destroyed due to military operations by an enemy it can well be qualified as a 'murder'. According to a number of international conventions the invader must maximally not target at civil objects. We certainly understand that in reality it's an almost impossible thing to do in war conditions, but then the invaders must provide the population with all necessary services. However as we know the allies weren't ready at all to carry this responsibility. All this in addition to the fact that the reasons for this war has been false and illegal, it's a way too much responsibility taken.

Sure. It's their responsibility to provide all necessary services. Nobody denies that the allies are responsible for civil casualties. But still it would be wrong to say that all those people were killed by the troops. That's why "died as a result of the war" would be a better wording. And 100000 is an arguable amount too.

Concerning the reasons...hhmmm... I'd say the excuses were false and illegal. The reasons were pragmatic.

Russian soldiers in Chechnya try to do everything to stop terrorists from their acts, but each year Chechenian terrorists do new attacks. Some people could've prevent them from their attacks, why didn't they? And, by the way American soldiers found and isolated lots of bombs, that COULD (there we go, could) be used by Al-Quaeda, believe me, they wouldn't sit "just for fun", the would use it. It's a war, no one is safe at this time.

Dansker, when Saddam had a power in Iraq, no real terrorist forces were present there. Now it's a daily bread for them to come to Iraq where no real power exists. Chechnya was a big mistake made back in 1994 so now we Russians know better than anyone else that you may not begin wars in the way it's been done. Nowadays a big part of Chechen terrorists are not Chechens, they come from abroad and their troups exist only thanks to financing from abroad. No war - no terrorists afterwards who come or are financed from other countries. To us what's happening in Iraq now was a quite expected thing before the war in Iraq began that's why we protested against it.

This surprises me, because when the question of Iraq was discussed in the UN, this wasn't mentioned, only chemical weapons were the point which even Americans have stopped to search for by now. Later when Americand tried to convince that Saddam collaborated with Al-Qaeda they either didn't succeed to present real evidences. There might well have been some underground activity in Iraq without obvious consent of its authorities, but that's not a solid ground for aggressing a country. For this criterion one should pay attention more to Saudi Arabia than to anybody else, because most of the participants of the 11.09 were from there. Traces of their group were even found in Germany, but nobody was so crazy to accuse its authorities and people!

I haven't found any statements that contradict democratic and pluralistic approach to discussion. And when You say that You don't want any discrimination try to choose a better example - not USA, 'cause this country is too far from what it seems to be. Especially, since they've established monopolar world domination (after terminating the Warsaw Pact that surprisingly wasn't followed by terminating NATO).
And... "Removing" Saddam? And in the same time killing children? Great idea - just another apotheosis of Western democracy at it's best!
And do You really think that any group of Al-Quaeda is "worse" than any Chechen group? Where is the difference?
